DESCRIPTION:Safely dispose of your household hazardous waste (HHW) and electronic waste (e-waste) free of charge!\n\n\nLos Angeles County and the Sanitation Districts host FREE one-day\, drive-through collection events where residents can drop off their HHW and e-waste. CLICK HERE to view upcoming events. \nEvents are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (unless otherwise noted)\, rain or shine\, and open to all Los Angeles County residents. No appointment is needed. \nCLICK HERE to learn what to expect when attending an event. \n \nIn addition to these events\, all Los Angeles County residents may also use the following permanent collection centers to dispose of HHW and e-waste at no cost: \n\nCity of Los Angeles S.A.F.E. Centers(various locations)\nAntelope Valley Environmental Collection Center(Palmdale)\nEDCO Recycling and Transfer Center(Signal Hill)\n\nPlease note that there is a limit of 15 gallons or 125 pounds of household hazardous waste and/or e-waste per trip. Waste generated from a business will not be accepted. \n \nBUSINESS WASTE \nHazardous and electronic waste generated from businesses is not accepted at County permanent centers or collection events. \nIf you are a small business with hazardous waste\, visit www.businessrecycling.com to locate a proper recycler. \nYou may qualify for the Very Small Quantity Generator (VSQG) Program. DESCRIPTION:Safely dispose of your household hazardous waste (HHW) and electronic waste (e-waste) free of charge!\n\n\nThe Antelope Valley Environmental Collection Center (AVECC) is a permanent facility offering a free and convenient method for residents of Los Angeles County to properly dispose of unwanted household hazardous and electronic waste (HHW/E-Waste)\, such as paint\, solvents\, chemicals\, computers\, batteries\, cell phones\, fluorescent lights\, and other household hazardous materials. We do not accept: Household Hazardous and electronic waste from a business\, explosives\, ammunition\, marine flares\, radioactive materials\, controlled substances\, trash and tires\, and white goods (refrigerators\, stoves\, washing machines\, etc. \nTo enhance public health and safety and keep the environment clean\, the County of Los Angeles and Waste Management encourage residents to drop off HHW/E-Waste at the AVECC. This center is located at 1200 W. City Ranch Road in Palmdale is open to the public on the first and third Saturday of each month\, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

These products include household cleaners\, lawn and garden care\, paint\, and more. \nWhy do we have them? \nReuse Centers help divert usable materials from the waste stream\, conserve resources and energy\, and reduce costs. Los Angeles County residents can pick up these useful products for FREE. \nHow does it work? \nStop by any of the two Reuse Centers during operating hours. If you need products\, the Reuse Center may have them!You do not need to drop anything off at the HHW collection event to pick up an item from the Reuse Center. \nTo allow everyone in the community an opportunity to pick up products from the Reuse Center\, households will be able to choose up to five items per week. \n \nAVECC1200 W. Residents can bring up to 15 gallons or 125 pounds of HHW per vehicle. \nWe do not accept: Household Hazardous and electronic waste from a business\, explosives\, ammunition\, marine flares\, radioactive materials\, controlled substances\, trash and tires\, and white goods (refrigerators\, stoves\, washing machines\, etc. \nThe Center is located in one of Los Angeles’ most densely populated areas and will serve as a convenient outlet for all county residents to safely dispose of hazardous waste. \nThe Center provides a free\, convenient\, and environmentally safe method for County residents to drop off HHW/E-Waste free of charge. The Center is located at EDCO Recycling and Transfer Center\, 2755 California Ave\, in the City of Signal Hill. EDCO is typically open on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month from 9:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m.\, except in the event of a holiday.

CLICK HERE to view upcoming events. \nEvents are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (unless otherwise noted)\, rain or shine\, and open to all Los Angeles County residents. No appointment is needed. \nCLICK HERE to learn what to expect when attending an event. \n \nIn addition to these events\, all Los Angeles County residents may also use the following permanent collection centers to dispose of HHW and e-waste at no cost: \n\nCity of Los Angeles S.A.F.E. Centers(various locations)\nAntelope Valley Environmental Collection Center(Palmdale)\nEDCO Recycling and Transfer Center(Signal Hill)\n\nPlease note that there is a limit of 15 gallons or 125 pounds of household hazardous waste and/or e-waste per trip. Waste generated from a business will not be accepted. \n \nBUSINESS WASTE \nHazardous and electronic waste generated from businesses is not accepted at County permanent centers or collection events. \nIf you are a small business with hazardous waste\, visit www.businessrecycling.com to locate a proper recycler. \nYou may qualify for the Very Small Quantity Generator (VSQG) Program.
