Countywide Holiday Tree Recycling Information 2025–26
Los Angeles County residents and businesses can once again conveniently recycle their natural holiday trees this year. Many areas throughout the County offer convenient curbside pickup and/or drop-off sites for tree recycling.

Most cities in Los Angeles County allow holiday trees to be placed curbside, next to trash and recycling carts or bins, on your scheduled trash collection day during the timeframe noted in the chart below. If that timeframe has ended, you may contact your waste hauler to schedule a bulky item pickup.
Cities have instructed the removal of all ornaments/decorations, tinsel, metal/plastic/wood stands, nails, and lights before setting trees out.

Holiday trees can be placed curbside next to trash and recycling carts or bins on your scheduled trash collection day from December 26, 2025, through January 16, 2026.
If you miss the recycling collection window, please cut your tree into smaller pieces and place it in your green organic waste cart or bin.
Please note:
- No ornaments, tinsel, lights, nails, or other decorations
- No plastic or metal tree stands
- No trees wrapped in plastic
- No flocked trees (Call your waste hauler for a free bulky item pickup)
- No artificial trees (Call your waste hauler for a free bulky item pickup)
- No blocking of any sidewalks, alleys, or streets

In many unincorporated communities in the North County, natural trees can be placed curbside, next to trash and recycling carts or bins on your scheduled trash collection day or taken to a drop-off site where the trees can be recycled.
If you miss the recycling collection window, please cut your tree into smaller pieces and place it in your green organic waste cart or bin.

Waste Management (WM):
- For residential and multifamily customers subscribing to services that include the collection of waste in a metal bin, WM will collect holiday trees from December 26, 2025, through January 16, 2026, at no charge.
- For residential and multifamily customers subscribing to services that include collection of yard waste in a plastic cart, WM will collect holiday trees from December 26, 2025, through January 16, 2026, at no charge.
- For all other residential customers, there is the option to call and schedule a curbside collection of holiday trees for a fee.
Burrtec Waste Industries:
- Burrtec will collect holiday trees from its customers. For details, please contact Burrtec at (866) 270-5370.
Drop-off Locations for Antelope Valley Residents:
- WM offers two convenient and free holiday tree drop-off locations from December 26, 2025, through January 31, 2026:
- Antelope Valley Recycling and Disposal Facility: 1200 W. City Ranch Rd., Palmdale, CA 93551
- Lancaster Landfill and Recycling Center: 600 E. Avenue F, Lancaster, CA 93534
